69.4 MILES - 2,890 FT OF CLIMB - ANAMOSA TO CLINTON
We did it! Hello Mississippi River! Nice weather, mostly great roads on our 70 mile trek from Anamosa to Clinton. We left at 5am, and got in at 11:15 am. Dipped our front tires in the Mississippi River and then biked to John.
Now at 12:30pm, we are on the road heading south to I-80W.
Whew! RAGBRAI is over!

7/27 @ 3:14pm - Camp in Anamosa
We camped at the Middle School in Anamosa. We only had to share with one other bike club. It was a nice site.
7/27 @ 3:13pm - Nap time!
The temps definitely cooled off today. We are not even seeking A/C. It is high 80's with a breeze. Feels great!
7/27 @ 10:16am - Tent City Anamosa
45 miles of hills and slight headwind from the north a delightfully cool beautiful day's ride from Cedar Rapids. Hard to believe tomorrow is our last day already. Always a thrill and sense of accomplishment to see the Mississippi River but tears at the ending of another Ragbrai. Hope to capture a beautiful sunrise morning from my bike tomorrow!
7/27 @ 12:45pm - Jester & Chicken
We see a lot of silly stuff on the road while we are biking, but it is always tough to stop, get off of your bike and take a picture. We have seen these guys on the road, but they happened to be eating at AmVets too. So we asked for some photos. Notice the chicken's golden egg!
Even though there are no pictures, this year I saw a unicyclist, and a roller blader. Craziness.
7/27 @ 12:31pm - Lunch at AmVets
This is my favorite meal so far. Chicken and noodles, with green beans and mashed potatoes. Definitely hit the spot. YUMMY!!!
7/27 @ 10:23am - DAY 6 COMPLETE!
42.2 MILES - 2,272 FT OF CLIMB - CEDAR RAPIDS TO ANAMOSA
We did it! Even though it was a short day, it was probably our hilliest. We did have a headwind out of the north, so we were happy to finally head east for the last 10 miles. Thanks for riding with me dad!! I love you!

7/26 @ 7:40pm - Church transportation
The neighboring church provided this transportation to take people to and from their spaghetti dinner.
7/26 @ 7:30pm - Robert's new suite
Since his tent broke last night in the storm, Robert is going to reside in the back of John's pick-up.
7/26 @ 7:25pm - Dinner group!
My dad made it in from Chicago to ride
tomorrow and Bob and Patty Jenkins drove in from Waterloo to have dinner
with us. We went to Biaggi's Italian and I had lobster fettucini. It
was excellent!
We then led my dad to the house he is staying at which just happens to be 1 mile from our campsite. Crazy how well this worked out! Planning on meeting him at 630am to get our ride started!
